The Rock Island Depot historic restoration was the combination of local antique auto enthusiasts’ efforts and matching grant funds from the Department of Transportation. The project met Oklahoma Historical Society SHPO standards and requirements. The exterior renovation included demolition of an unstable south wing and complete reconstruction of plaster, roof, ornamental ironwork and brick paving. The interior work included a complete refurbishing with special attention to damaged wall and ceiling plaster, ceramic and wood floors renovations, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing replacement.

CMSWillowbrook received the “Oklahoma Builder of the Year” award from the AGC of Oklahoma based on three historic preservation projects, including the Rock Island Train Depot restoration.
