From The Ground Up: A Year-End Review
When I look back at 2017, CMSWillowbrook has a lot to celebrate. We have a growing leadership team, we are investing in new technology and we started streamlining our processes to be even more efficient. We also had the opportunity to work on innovative buildings.
Among my favorite projects this year was our work on the Oklahoma City Municipal Courts Building. This grand facility will serve Oklahoma City residents with six courtrooms. The project team installed the latest technology and communications systems for security, court scheduling and ease of doing business. However, the best part was giving city staff an updated work space with ample natural lighting, something many of them lacked for decades.
I’m also really proud of our work on Spring Creek Elementary in the Deer Creek School District. The school desperately needed more space, with two classes being held in hallways!
CMSWillowbrook used its full suite of construction management services to improve conditions for students and teachers. We were involved in planning the bond issue, pre-construction and the actual building. We added two buildings comprising eight classrooms, more than 10,000 square feet of new space and new restrooms.
Most importantly, we got the work done fast. The project wrapped up six weeks early, allowing students and teachers to move into real classrooms. It’s a great reminder of how partnering with a construction management expert provides huge benefits for clients.
These were just two of many projects we completed this year. In 2017 CMSWillowbrook:
- Wrapped up 20 projects
- Worked in 15 cities around Oklahoma
- Hired 12 new people
With the year coming to a close, our attention turns to innovation and growth in 2018. We have exciting projects coming up for Mid-Del and Bixby Public Schools. We’re especially looking forward to building the Ardmore Readiness Center, which will be the first time an Oklahoma-based firm performs a design-build project for the military.
Thank you to our clients, staff and partners who have been part of our continued growth and success.
