CMSWILLOWBROOK CELEBRATES BIG WINNING BEACON AWARD

CMSWillowbrook was awarded with the Journal Record Beacon Award on the successful years of charitable giving to the Salvation Army Grady and Caddo Counties.

Every year, CMSWillowbrook chooses 12 Salvation Army Christmas Angels to help children in need have Christmas presents. Already having a relationship with the Salvation Army of Grady and Caddo Counties, CMSWillowbrook decided to dig  further on how to help those in need, and met with the Salvation Army team to come up with something else to do. This was the same time when the Global Pandemic hit and there was more of a need for help. CMSWillowbrook partnered with the Salvation Army and came up with a friendly Jobsite Competition Fundraiser. This competition between all of our jobsites (up to 20 or more) also had participation of subcontractors, vendors and suppliers chipping in. The jobsite who raised the most money in the month time frame would win a catered lunch by CMSWillowbrook. The heat was on and more money was raised than anyone could ever dream of. The company has a charitable giving program, that whatever is donated to a cause, the company matches it. In 2020, CMSWillowbrook and others raised $20,000 and the company matched it. Then in 2021 $50,000 was raised total with company match! Both years, the Blanchard Public Schools project team and jobsite raised the most funds, so they received the catered meal. Because of this jobsite competition fundraiser for the Salvation Army, CMSWillowbrook was able to help with utility assistance, families in need and the children’s program at the Grady and Caddo Counties Salvation Army.

“We were excited to work with The Salvation Army and helping the residents of Grady and Caddo Counties,” said Brandi Whitehead, Executive Assistant at CMSWillowbrook. “Last year, we had an amazing response to this campaign, and we are so proud to work alongside our subcontractors and coworkers who truly care about helping others!”

Terry Holt, Superintendent, of the Blanchard High School Performing Arts jobsite, were thrilled with the results of the competition and the jobsite’s victory. He said, “This wouldn’t be possible without many generous contributions, not only from our subcontractors, but CMSWillowbrook as well. The owners always give back to the community, which helps many less fortunate families.”

Cory Pivniska, Project Director, remarked “We are so excited our folks were able to work hard to make the challenge so special at Christmas. I can’t say enough how proud I am of everyone who contributed and worked to make this happen!”

Captain Bobby McFarland, Commanding Officer for Caddo and Grady Counties, states “In a year that continues to see an increase in need in our community, the impact that The Salvation Army can make is exponentially amplified by the incredible generosity of CMSWillowbrook. The participation of the entire company to make a difference for the most vulnerable neighbors in need is truly inspirational, and we are so grateful for their partnership throughout the years.”
