MID-DEL PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Bond 34
Immediately following the Sandy Hook Elementary school tragedy, Mid-Del Public Schools realized they needed to improve security at their school sites. CMSWillowbrook collaborated with the school district and architect to develop a school/facility security assessment. The assessment was compiled into a Safety and Security Bond Issue where we performed pre-bond planning and promotion services. The projects included safety and security upgrades and additions for 31 buildings. Some of the features installed include security vestibules, perimeter fencing, additional exterior lighting, cameras and access control to exterior doors. Construction spread over four years, and all projects were completed on time and under budget.
CMSWillowbrook performed pre-bond planning, pre-construction and construction services for two new elementary schools in Midwest City and a complete renovation to an existing elementary school in Del City. The project also included additions to a fourth elementary school in Del City. Services included identification and implementation of program requirements and design standards with multiple architects and engineers, preparation of estimates, site analysis, lifecycle and value analysis, bidding strategies, and scheduling for the entire program to flow in harmony.
All projects ran simultaneously:
New Midwest City Elementary/storm shelter for 900 students
New Soldier Creek Elementary/storm shelter for 900 students
Del City Elementary renovation/storm shelter addition for 750 students
Epperly Heights Elementary renovation for 750 students
