Oklahoma City Municipal Courts
Willowbrook constructed the Municipal Courts building in downtown Oklahoma City. It consists of six courtrooms with custom wood finishes and imported granite. The courtroom walls are enclosed with sound-attenuating sheetrock to maximize sound control. The building features six judges’ quarters along with departments for court administration, prosecutors, marshals and support staff. The featured grand stairway at the atrium entrance is finished out with granite treads and a glass railing system. The pay and service areas are equipped with bullet-resistant wall and glass systems while providing a clean, crisp look for the atrium area to incorporate safety features without compromising aesthetics. Composite metal panels combined with an aluminum cornice finish out the exterior of the high roof. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit is a chilled beam system designed for very efficient heating and cooling with minimal maintenance. A plant in downtown Oklahoma City provides steam and chill water service for this HVAC system. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and fire protection (FP) systems were fully coordinated using building information modeling (BIM).
